Bathroom Style Inspiration For Under $100

IMG_2761.JPG

Recently I was lucky enough to restyle my friend’s guest bathroom. I can’t wait to indulge in the details of this project with you—especially because everything is from Target AND under $100!

While some people think bathrooms don’t require a lot of attention and serve a more ‘functional’ purpose, I tend to disagree. Especially as someone who doesn’t typically use a lot of color in her designs, bathrooms are the perfect place to bring in seasonal hues, statement decor, bold wallpaper, and personal flares that may not serve well in other rooms.

For this particular project, I knew I wanted the aesthetic to be light and bright because this bathroom has no windows. When you’re combatting a lack of natural light, it’s important to find ways to make the room feel brighter than it actually is. With that in mind, I was on a mission to create a space that radiated warmth—and this gold and white Chenille Bath Rug brought my vision to life.

After finding the main statement piece, I was determined to find a shower curtain that would bring harmony to the space. If you’ve never shopped the Hearth & Hand collection at Target by Joanna Gaines, you NEED to. I actually have a Hearth & Hand shower curtain in my own bathroom, so I was pretty confident I would find what I was looking for — and, luckily, I did. Hearth & Hand products have a rustic, romantic appeal — they’re stylish, simplistic and classic.

I found an all-white Textured Stripe Curtain with a fringe bottom. Although an all-white shower curtain can feel simple and plain, it’s important to remember that a room needs balance. So, when you’re incorporating a color AND a pattern in one item, a nice contrast can be something more neutral. Unfortunately, this specific curtain is out of stock, but the Embroidery Border Stripe option is very similar and still available.

Hand towels are a fun and inexpensive way to play up both neutral and bold colors. Although they mainly serve a functional purpose, they are a key styling element to bring cohesion to a bathroom. And, in this case, they were a great opportunity to bring out some of the existing colors, as well as tie in another neutral. For this design, l went with this Diamond Weave Bath Towel in gold, as well as a soft gray option. Unfortunately, I can’t find the exact gray towel I purchased, but the Soft Solid Bath Towel is another great choice.

Contrary to what TJ Maxx or Home Goods may want you to believe, less is more when it comes to bath accessories, especially for those of us that live in tiny city apartments and are combatting a lack of space. Rather than having a countertop full of clutter, I normally opt for the minimalist approach. For this bathroom redesign, I found the perfect rustic, vintage-looking Seedless Glass Soap Pump in Amber that complemented all other styling elements.

Last, but not least, if you’re looking for a finishing touch for your bathroom, I recommend a simple clear vase, such as this one, with fresh or faux eucalyptus.

If you’re looking for a simple, inexpensive styling project, bathrooms are the perfect space to tackle. Are you planning to restyle a room in your home soon? Tell me about it in the comments below!
